DISTRICT NURSING IN NORTH OTAGO
TO THE EDITOR
Sir,—lf "Awake "is against a nursing scheme, wny did she not come to the open meeting to discuss it? I was very pleased •to read that the scheme is approved by the Oamaru Trades Council.—l am. etc.. Progress. Oamaru. TO THE EDITOR Sir.—The meeting held at Oamaru is a clear indication that a scheme of district nursing is an idea of people who do not understand what they are talking about. Most women and girls in the country to-day have a good knowledge of first aid and home nursing, and if more professional knowledge is required, the physician's advice is the only safe guide. Apart from our duty to the sick, to see that no risk is taken, and that the very best possible attention is provided, we also owe it to a community to prevent rather than foster added costs.—l am. etc.. Facts.
