HOUSEHOLDER INJURED HIT ON HEAD WITH WEAPON (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Sept, 26. At grips with a marauder whom he discovered in his house last night, Thomas Walter Robert Hitt, of 45 Hagley street, Riccarton, put up a good fight until a weapon crashed down on bis skull. , J , Hitt was taken to the Christchurch Hospital, where he is still in bed, though his injuries are not considered serious. The burglar, who is believed to have been responsible for thefts from a number of suburban houses recently during the absence of the occupants, got away.
