POWERFUL SEARCHLIGHT
VICINITY OF DUNKIRK ENGLISH COAST LIT UP (Rec. 0.15 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 26. The Germans have installed south of Dunkirk a very powerful searchlight, which Britons have nicknamed “ Bertha’s Eye.” Every clear night a great beam spreads fanwise across 30 miles of water, lighting up a stretch of the English coast and blinding motorists caught in the beam.
