Thursday, September 11 (Before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M.) Drunkenness Charged with drunkenness, John. O'Sullivan, a statutory first offender was fined 12s 6d, in default 24 hours imprisonment. Admitted to Probation John Campbell appeared for sentence on a charge of committing an indecent act with intent to offend. —Mr O. G. Stevens, on behalf of the accused, stated that Campbell had already been in gaol for a week, and suggested that, in accordance with a recommendation by the probation officer, he should be given another chance. —A conviction was entered, and the accused was placed on probation for three years, v Youth in Trouble A 17-year-old youth, publication of whose name was prohibited in the meantime, was charged with having broken and entered a house in Carroll street, and committed theft. —Applying for a week’s remand, Detective Sergeant Hal] stated that there were at least four charges pending against the accused, who had been found in a house on the previous evening and arrested.—A remand until September 18 was granted, the bail being allowed in the accused’s own recognisance of £SO and one surety of a like amount, conditional on his reporting daily to the police.
