ROSLYN CLUB'S MEETING

The annual meeting of the Roslyn Lawn Tennis Club was held on Wednesday night. In the absence of the president, Mr J. L., Gregory, the chair was taken by Mr T. Grimsdale, vicepresident. . -■-.•"••.-■..'• Moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet,' Mr Grimsdale commented on the club's financial position and the social fipiifit existing among the club members. He congratulated the members of-the mixed A Grade and Bt Grade teams on their success in interclub competitions, and also the members of the Intermediate and C Grade teams, and Mr R. ,G. Sincock on winning the Cleghorn Cup Competition.

The election of officers, resulted as follows:—President, Mr C. Sonntag; vice-presidents—Messrs G. I. Black, E. H. Calder, A. C. McGeorge, and R. G. Sincock; immediate past president, Mr J. L. Gregory; hon. secretary, Miss Rackley; hon. treasurer, Mr J. E. Hartstonge; committee—Messrs R. Craw* ford, E. D. Duthie, T. Grimsdale,. J. Hehdy, Miss R. Burton, and Mrs G. A. Pearce; club captain, Mr W. Gorton; ladder secretary and selector, Mr R. G. Sincock; hon. solicitor, Mr C. J. Rawlinson; hon. auditor, Mr N. Mollison; delegates to 0.L.T.A., Messrs G. I. Black and T. Grimsdale.

It was decided that all club members on active service should be retained as honorary members during their absence overseas. At the conclusion of the business a social hour was spent; Opening day was fixed for Saturday., September .13.
