FINAL OF CHAMPIONSHIP (P.Aj WELLINGTON, Aug. 28. The first of two sessions of 760 up for the New Zealand Amateur Billiards Championship was played- to-night in Wellington. At the close of play R. Carrick, a former champion, had 750 up against 635 by S. Moses, the 1940 champion. The concluding session of the- final will be played to-morrow night, the points being 1500 up, including those scored to-night. At one stage to-night Moses was well behind, and responded with a brilliant 114. the best break of the night. Among the best breaks, were: Carrick. 48.‘ 36. 39, 47, 38, 33, 42, 34, 43; Moses. 40. 39, 114.
