OBITUARY
MR WILLIAM TURNBULL
" After- ari illness lasting; -three w£eks, Mr William Turnbull; aged 98, of 16 Onslow street, St. Clair, died at his home yesterday. He was well known to the farming community .of Otago and to the business people ofDunedin as assistant manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand, Ltd. He was born at Clinton, and 45 years ago entered the employ of the Farmers’ Agency Company, which was absorbed by the National Mortgage about 1902. He was appointed assistant manager of the latter firm about 15 years ago. • As a young man Mr Turnbull was a prominent athlete, being a champion sprinter and a member of the Dunedin Football Club. Throughout his life he was actively associated with many branches of sport, and he was also interested In the Masonic Order. He is survived by his widow, four sons, and two daughters. The sons are Messrs Ivan L. Turnbull. Alan J. Turnbull (Waitahuna), William Turnbull, and Keith Turnbull, and his daughters are Mrs Charles K. Saxton and Miss Doris Turnbull. / ■ ■ 1
