SWIFT COOPERATION

ARMY AND THE R.A.F. A GUNNER’S LIFE SAVED (Rec. 8 p.m.) RUGBY, Aug. 26. How swift co-operation between the army and the R.A.Fr saved the life of a South African rear-gunner who was wounded and had to bale out of an aircraft, is described by the Air Ministry News Service. The wounded man was picked up by the army and immediately the report was received an R.A.F. bomber with a medical officer and equipment was sent to a forward aerodrome. A blood transfusion was necessary and 'this operation was performed in a tent. The man was then flown to his base and taken to hospital, where he is making a good recovery.
