DESTROYER LOST
FORMER AMERICAN VESSEL MANNED BY NORWEGIANS RUGBY, Aug. 26. The destroyer Bath, the loss of which was announced by the Norwegian Navy this morning, is the first of the former American destroyers to be sunk in the Allied service. In a message sent to the Norwegian Minister of Defence, the First Lord ,of the Admiralty, Mr A. V. Alexander, expresses the Navy’s sympathy in the loss of many fine Norwegian seamen. The Norwegian Minister, in reply, stresses the closeness Of the bonds existing between the British and Norwegian navies.
