THE MOVE INTO IRAN RUSSIANS TAKE FOUR TOWNS \ LONDON, Aug. 27. The Tass Agency reports that Soviet troops occupied Ardebil, Tabriz, Dulman and Lissar. The advance is continuing according to plan. An Iran communique from Teheran states: “Enemy planes bombed Ardebil, Resht, Ashraf and Bandarrig. There was slight damage, with some civilian casualties, but no military targets were hit. An enemy plane was shot down by anti-aircraft fire over Tabriz.” POSSIBLE DEMAND BY HITLER OPENING OF THE DARDANELLES WASHINGTON, Aug. 27. “ Pertinax,” writing for the North American Newspaper Alliance from Washington, says diplomats on the spot believe that Germany, in retaliation for Russo-British invasion of Iran, will demand from Turkey a free passage for Axis battleships through the Dardanelles. ALLIED WARPLANES GREAT NUMBER IN THE EAST WASHINGTON, Aug. 27. Information has been received here by the North American Newspaper Alliance that Australian, British, and Dutch warplanes between Darwin and Singapore are rapidly reaching the total that Japan can afford to put into the air in those regions. It is added that the constant flow of Catalina patrol bombers from America since January has eliminated raiders and minelayers from the Pacific, and more Catalinas have become available as a result of the, recent tension.
