"THE BLACK WATCH"
The Brst of the series "Famous Films of yesteryear" will be screened at the Grand Theatre to-day, when "The Black Watch " wMI open its Dunedin season. A 20th Century-Fox production, " The Black Watch" portrays the lives oi members of the famous and heroic 42nd Highlanders whose glorious deeds in the past have won a name for their regiment that ranks among the greatest and most historic in the world. Set in the colourful and romantic atmosphere of the Khyber Pass, the film features Victor McLaglen, the well-known " he-man " actor, and Myrna Loy. who won fame for herself in the " Thin Man " series, when she was starred with William Powell. Besides the many thrilling episodes in "The Black Watch, there is a delightful romantic element and al*o a touch of comedy, which should appeal to all audiences, whether they consist of Scottish people or not. The associate film is " Murder Among Friends, a dramatic murder mystery, which is also blended with romantic comedy. The featured players are Marjorie Weaver and John Hubbard.
