HIGH SCHOOL EX-GIRLS’ CLUB

The monthly i meeting of the High School Ex-girls’ Club was held in the lounge of the Otago Women’s Club on Monday evening last, when Miss Morton presided. The speaker for the evening was Mr M. H. Jennings, who was warmly applauded for his interesting address on the Maori people. ' their culture, religion, and crafts. The speaker referred also to the work that is being done to-day for the betterment of conditions for the Maori people. The lecture was illustrated by two films showing women at the task of preparing and weaving flax and other phases of Maori life.

Hull, Miss Jennifer Hull, Mr and Mrs Borrow (Mosgiel), Mr andiMrs Burns, Miss Janice Burns, Master Peter Burns, Miss Harris, Master Cluie Nelson and Master Willie Crookshanks, Mrs Vallis, Miss Margaret Vallis, Mrs Jack Scott, Miss Mary Scott, Master Peter Scott (Maori Hill).
