EXTENSION OF RETIRING AGE SOUGHT (0.C.) WELLINGTON. June 12. Revocation of the compulsory retirement of officers in the Post and Telegraph Department on attaining the age of 60 years or after 40 years’ service wherq such officers are still active and efficient is the subject of a question, notice of which was given today by Mr W. J. Broadfoot (Opposition, Waitomo). The question, which was addressed to the Postmastergeneral, Mr P. C. Webb, emphasised the continued call for extra man-power in the Dominion. Mr Broadfoot said that a large number of the departmental staff had already entered the military forces.
