“COMFORTS FOR FIGHTERS”
appeal to churches Prompted by the criticism that church members, as groups, had not so far been given an opportunity of “ doing their bit ” for the “Comforts for Fighters’ ” Fund, the Otago Provincial Patriotic Council has inaugurated a “ Churches and Fighters ” Appeal, which will afford an opportunity for direct giving. It is suggested that churches of all denominations could augment the “ Comforts for Fighters Fund, which closes at the end of the present month, by sales of work, “ bring-and-buy ” fairs, jumble sales, whist drives, retiring collections, and other methods. ' Those responsible for this “ Churches and Fighters ” appeal are confident that the people appealed to will do their utmost to ensure that church members will, as groups, materially help the “ Comforts for Fighters Fund. All direct donations should be sent to the secretary of the Otago Provincial Patriotic Council at the Town Hall or to the church officers. There are only three weeks left, and church members are, therefore, asked to give this appeal their urgent attention. i
