The fashion of parading through Christchurch with livestock on the shoulder appears to be on the increase. On a recent afternoon a man was observed in Cashel street with & pet kea riding on his shoulder. The native parrot was securely tethered by a lengtn of wire attached to a leg, and. oblivious to the interest it was creating among passers-by. amused itself by sharpening its beak on the collar of its owner's leather coat.
