BRIGHTON DOMAIN BOARD

ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Brighton Domain Board was attended by Messrs W J. Bell (chairman), G. Stevenson, E J Waldron, H A. Griffiths, G. Bennett A. C. L Baker, F. C Laidlaw G. Mearns arid J. A. Watters. Presenting the annual report, the chairman particularly mentioned the work done by the board in levelling the playing area oh the domain This, he said, had proved a much bigger task than had been anticipated, but when completed it should be for all time a level area of some five acres available for all kinds of sport. The report further detailed the board's activities. A brush fence had been erected to stop the encroachment of sand on the domain foreshore, and receptacles for waste naper had been placed at various positions on the domain. An ambulance kit had been purchased for immediate use in any emergency. The Surf Club's buildings had been improved, and an icecream stall had been built near the domain entrance in order to eliminate the danger of children having to cross the road for refreshments. Three new members had been appointed during the year Messrs F. C Laidlaw R. A S. Gray and D Stewart, the caretaker, who, the chairman said, had carried out his duties to the satisfaction of all concerned Mr W J Bell was re-elected chairman for the ensuing year
