FRENCH ASSURANCES
FLEET AND COLONIES NOT TO BE SURRENDERED (Rec. 8 p.m.) WASHINGTON, May 27. The French Ambassador, M. Henry Haye, delivered a Note to. Mr Sumner Welles, giving assurances that the French fleet and colonies would not be surrendered to Germany or to any other Power.
