BRITISH CHILDREN

A HAVEN IN AMERICA (Rec. 8 p.m.) RUGBY, May 27. One hundred British children in Britain have been " adopted" by Americans through the Save the Children Fund, and 600 further such arrangements will shortly be made. Americans from every branch of society are taking part in the scheme, and £5 a year is sent for each child cared for—by taxi drivers, shopkeepers, office girls, high court judges, and oldage pensioners, A snapshot of each child concerned goes to each godparent. The first batch of letters from children already helped by their new godparents is on the way across the Atlantic.
