THE LEMON CROP ] PRICE PAID TO GROWERS (P.A.) WELLINGTON. May 14. In an announcement to-day the Minister of Marketing. Mr J. G. Barclay, states that the price to be paid to lemon-growers for the new season would be on the same basis as during last season,, namely. 7s for sufficient fruit which, when cured, will pack a bushel case. He added that the Government would, in accordance with a promise made, pay to lemongrowers a bonus of 6d per cured bushel on last season’s fruit, and at the end of the present season consideration would be given to the payment of a similar bonus on the 1941 crop if the financial position permits. MINING NEWS WAITAHU RETURN The Waitahu Gold Mining Company. Ltd., reports that the final wash-up in No 26 paddcck resulted in a return of 41 oz 6dwt for 18 shifts of eight hours erch. This makes a total of 6ooz lldwt from this paddock.
