BURNSIDE STOCK SALE
MARKETS EASIER LAMBS AND PIGS FIRM There wore fair yardings at the Burnside stock sale yesterday, when prices of cattle and sheep were inclined to ease. Lambs and fat pigs, however, sold firmly. A large entry of approximately 300 head of fat cattle was penned. With the exception of a few prime consignments, the yarding was mostly of mixed quality, many of the grass cattle showing the effects of the weather conditions. The sale opened on a par with last week for prime quality, with medium and unfinished descriptions meeting with slow inquiry. Prices eased later, particularly for cows and heifers and inferior steers, the drop in these two classes being from 10s to 15s per head. Prime heavy ox made to £l6 7s 6d; prime. £l3 7s 6d to £ls 17s 6d; medium, £9 12s fid to £ll 7s fid; extra prime cows and heifers, to £ll 17s fid: prime, £8 2s fid to £9 2s fid; medium, £6 2s fid to £7 7s fid; light, £4 2s fid to £5 7s fid.
