LEGLESS AIR FIGHTER

A NEW ZEALAND TRIBUTE (PA.) AUCKLAND. May 13. An inlaid cigar and cigarette box made by Mr H. C. Osbourne, of Auckland, is to be sent by air to England as a gift from the New Zealand War Amputees' Association to Squadron Leader D. R S. Bader. D. 5.0., D.F.C.. the legless leader of a Canadian fighter squadron of the Royal Air Force. The gift is a tribute from the association to the manner in which Squadron Leader Bader has overcome his infirmity and transformed himself from a helpless cripple into a world-famous air fighter. _ , The maker of the box, Mr Osbourne, is a disabled soldier. Samples of his work are in the possession of their Majesties the King and Queen, Mr Winston Churchill and Viscount Bledisloe.
