WIND CHANGE Forecast for Otago. —The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Moderate to strong northwesterly to westerly winds, changing to south-westerly and decreasing temporarily. Rain in the western high country, mainly fair to cloudy elsewhere, but some soattered rain accompanying the wind change. Temperatures mild, but becoming cooler. Seas rough south of the Nuggets; otherwise moderate. Further Outlook. Continuing changeable. , Dominion Forecast.— Fair east of the main ‘ranges from Canterbury northwards, otherwise changeable, with occasional rain in Westland and periods of passing showers elsewhere. Conditions improving rapidly over the northern half of the North Island. Moderate to mild temperatures. Weather in Dunedin.— The weather yesterday was fine, with a light breeze from the north-east. Temperatures were mild, the maximum being 58 degrees. The barometer rose in the evening to 30.02 inches (1017 millibars), but dropped to 30 inches (1016 millibars) at midnight.
