Dredging Company’s return for the week ended May 10 was 250 z 12dwt in 127 hours (13.722 yards). The dredge master reports that he is turning the dredge to-day to work the northward cut. NEMONA RETURN The Nemona Gold Dredging Company’s return for the week ended May 9 was 240 z in 110 hours (9100 yards). NEW ZEALAND NEWSPAPERS, LTD. (Special) AUCKLAND, May 12. The accounts of New Zealand Newspapers, Ltd., for the year ended March 31 show a net profit of £41,425, compared with £45,035 a year ago. A final dividend is recommended of 8d a share, making Is 4d a share for the year, equal to 8 per cent, (unchanged). The year s dividend absorbs £39,833, leaving £45,731 to be carried forward, against £44,139 brought in. McKENZIE’S STORES, LTD. (Special) WELLINGTON, May 12. The directors of McKenzies Department Stores, Ltd., recommend a final dividend of 5 per cent., making 10 per cent, for the year, compared with 14 per cent, for the preceding 12 months. The profits carried forward from 1940 totalled £116,070, less £35,000 for dividend paid in June and £17,738 for additional taxes since paid In respect of the year ended March 31, 1940, leaving a balance of £63,332. The profits for the * year ended March 31. 1941, totalled £89,052, less £25,364 for dividends paid in December and plus £565 excess of receipts over expenses in the profit and loss account, leaving available £64,253.
