DIVERTING CAPPING CONCERT A happy diversion for times like the present is provided by the Capping Concert, which is being presented in His Majesty’s Theatre, w’here the keynote of the performance is bright originality. This year the programme is of a higher standard than usual, and provides a refreshing selection., of farce, smart revue, burlesque, music, ballets and a student version of Gilbert and Sullivan opera, all of which are enthusiastically staged in the best University tradition. “The Pirates cf Finance ” is the piece de resistance of the programme, and is a clever and diverting adaptation of Savoy opera with a brilliant script rich in satire and topicality, caricaturing New. Zea-.. land politicians. “ The Stealth Scheme ” gives a novel picture of the Government health scheme in farce form, and the programme is well rounded off by shorter items of an equally high standard.
