TAIERI POULTRY SOCIETY
1 There was a good attendance at the monthly meeting of the Taieri Poultry Society on Saturday evening, when Mr James Friend presided. The principal business was the appointment of judges, replies having been received from those nominated. The following were appointed:—Utility poultry, Mr C. Bartley; game and bantams, Mr R. W. Brown; budgerigars and finches, Mr Lethaby, canaries, Mr G. H. Baker; needlework, etc., Mrs Kirkland and Miss MePherson; produce, Mr John Williamson; fancy pigeons, Mr Bain; homing pigeons, Mr M. Anderson; honey, Mr Robertson (Government Agricultural Department). ' The Schedule Committee was instructed to meet on May 20 to allot the special prizes. The -ecretary oi the South Island Poultry Association returned proofs of the schedule, notifying that it was in order and ready to be printed. He signified approval of the judges nominated. Reports to hand indicated that the collectors were meeting with a good response.
