A FEW SHOWER'S Forecut For Otago.—The following official weatber forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5j3.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington;— ■ Decreasing south-easterly winds. Some pairing showers, hot weather otherwise (air to fine. Moderate temperatures. Seas moderate, with a considerable southerly swell. Dominion Forecut.—A cyclonic depression passed * over Southland last night, and is moving away rapidly in a south-easterly direction. Pressure is relatively high over the remainder of the area. Weather for the most part fair to fine. Cloudy, however, in the far north and passing showers in western and southern areas of the South Island. Temperatures mild in the north; moderate in the south. Weather in Dnnedinl—Conditions were dull and overcast on Saturday, with occasional misty showers. There was a fresh breeze from the north-east and the maximum temperature was 60 degrees. The barometer fell rrpidly during the day. Yesterday a strong south-west gale swept the city, bringing threatening clouds in the afternoon, but falling in the evening. The maximum temperature was 69 degrees and the barometer after falling to 29.34 inches in the morning rose steeply to 30.04 inches (1017 millibars) ct midnight Barometer, inches and millibars: Saturday—B a.m., 30.20 (1023); noon, 30.10 (1019); 6 p.m., 29.92 (1013); midnight, 29.67 (1005). Sunday—3 a.m., 29.44 (997); noon. 29,51 (999); 6 n.m., 29.90 (1012); midnight, 30.04 (1017). Thermometer: Saturday—B a.m.. 54 degrees; neon, 60 degrees; 6 p.m.. 58 degrees; midnight, 58 degrees.
