Hpavy Rainfall Last Thursday's rainfall amounted to 2.13 inches, and this was of inestimable value to the farmers in the district. On Saturday a fall of .55 inches was recorded, and cold, showery weather prevailed on Sunday. There were occasional hail showers, and conditions were wintry in comparison with the hot weather over the holidays. The rainfall for December was 2.55 inches, bringing the rainfall for 1940 to 62.15 inches. This is considerably higher than the average for the past 20 years—--55.9 inches. The highest total was recorded in 1936, when the fall was 68.98 inches, and the smallest was 41.22 inches in 1924. ..
