Acceptances, Acceptances for the second day of the Dunedin summer meeting are due at noon to-day. A Change A change of riders would probably cast some influence on results on the second day at Wingatui. Schoolgirl The Paper Money mare Schoolgirl can teach others how to gallop, as she scored in fine style when striding home in the Burnside Handicap. Won Well Eire's Ruin won well in the Trial Handicap. She was got by Irish Lancer from Glentruln's Daughter, and should win again. Eulogist The Myosotis colt Eulogist belongs to a successful tribe on the turf, as his dam, Motunau, was got by Lirriond—Eulalie, by Absurd— Eulogy, and so traces to a prolific source of winners. Straightdell Straightdell was got by Straightcourse from Mardella, by Valkyrian—Galli Curci, by Potoa—Polly Perkins, by Freedom—i Modesty, by Tasman—Sapphlra, by Leolinus—Lyra, by Thonnanby. Man's Pal Southern Wave and Palfrey, first and third in the Dunedin Handicap, were got by Man's Pal, whose stock seem sure to bring him into prominence. Palfrey Palfrey has generally been a bit slow off the mark, and drawing number eight at the barrier did not help his chance in the Dunedin Handicap. He was finishing on in third place. A Bad Passage Both Rue and Muffler were well backed for their engagements, but each of them got a bad run. They should both do better with a stronger rider up.

Flagman The Otokia Hurdle winner Flagman is a half-brother to Slayer, who has been a good performer over fences. Flagman is smart on the flat, and set a good pace all the way. A Good Race

Superex, Airdrie and Donadea were racing in close order at the last flight in the Otokia Hurdles, and some crowding appeared to take place. Flagman, however, kept clear of them in the short run home.

Recollection Recollection has a bulky bandage on his near hind leg, and appeared to walk a shade short prior to the Otokia Hurdles. He looked dangerous when he ran up to Flagman at the 'second last hurdle, but commenced to fade at the home turn. Southern Wave

The Ounedin Handicap winner Southern Wave was got by Man's Pal from Set Sail, by Solferino—Strathpeffer, by Birkenhead—ldeal, by Dreadnought—Mount Ida, by Apremont—ldalia. Southern Wave ran second to Salutation at the spring meeting, and fought out a good finish to beat Desert Maid. i | Doria

Dame Rumour had some misleading information concerning Doria. She was first booked for Auckland, and was then reported to have developed a cold. Finally, on the eve of the meeting, she was said to be a doubtful starter. In her gallop with St. Cloud on Wednesday morning she showed a lack of dash, but when it came to racing she ran up to her best form. Spanish Lad, on the handicap, seemed sure to beat her on the form at the New Zealand Cup meeting. Not Out

Apparently a doubt existed whether Not Out would stay beyond a mile and a-quarter. This was the probable reason why he had to be steadied after beginning well. He was still pulling when racing along the back, and was not too well placed three furlongs from home. When called on in the straight. Not Out got a lucky run on the rails and managed to stay on to reach third place. He might have done better if allowed to run on until he settled down. English Racing The Jockey Club's cancellation of the 1941 racing fixtures does not mean the abandonment of racing next year. On the contrary, the Racing Calendar has published a list of substitute races. These include the Derby, with £2OOO prize money, plus added amounts; the St. Leger, £1500; Oaks Stakes, and the Two Thousand Guineas, both of £1000; the One Thousand Guineas, of £700; the Ascot Gold Cup, £2OOO and a gold cup valued at £2OO. The Jockey Club's senior steward,! Lord Harewood, explained that a modified programme was arranged because it was not considered to the general advantage to hold racecourse executives to expensive programmes which might be beyond their means to carry out. It was also not desirable to cancel racing altogether if war conditions permit a continuance, because of the despondency which would be caused among all concerned in the sport for their livelihood. Inquiries at Wingatui

The Judicial Committee held an inquiry into interference to Donadea and Point Blank in the Otokia Hurdle Race. After hearing evidence the committee decided that the evidence was insufficient to convict any of the riders, and that the judge's placings stand. For failing to advise the club that Sham Boy and Eulogist should have been bracketed in the Milburn Handicap, S Barr, the trainer of Sham Boy, and J. K. Prosser, owner of Eulogist, were each fined £5.

P. Spratt and C. T. Wilson were each fined £1 for anticipating the rise of the barrier in the start for the Trial Handicap. Aftet the Burnside Handicap the stipendiary steward called the Judicial Committee together and an inquiry was held into the running of Hearth. The inquiry was adjourned until Saturday.
