Road Improvements The Alexandra-Roxburgh road la still under construction, although with a much reduced staff. The work: has now been brought to Gorge Creek, where outstanding improvements are being made, and motorists, during the coming holiday season. will notice the result with satisfaction. Fruit Season Strawberries are. now practically finished 1 . A greatly-reduced area was planted this year, and the demand could hardly be supplied. Cherries are now coming forward In good quantities, and it is hoped that certain varieties of early stone fruits will be ready by Christmas. Girl Guides’ Break-up * - On Monday night the Alexandra troup of Girl Guides entertained their mothers at a successful social evening. During the evening a presentation > was made to Captain J. Simpson, who has recently relinquished the office of leader of the troop. Holiday Season , Alexandra will again prove to' be a popular resort this holiday season. The hotels and boarding houses report excellent bookings, and both motor, camps have received numerous Inquiries for space. The main attraction will be the Alexandra Bowling Clubs.
