REVIEW OF YEAR'S WORK SOUND FINANCIAL POSITION A satisfactory financial position, represented by the sum of £1722 5s Id, cash in hand, was revealed in the annual report read at the seventy-sixth annual meeting of the Bible Society of Otago and Southland last night. Consequently, the society had been able to retain £4OO. after providing for amounts specially designated by the board and divided equally between the British and Foreign Bible'Society and the National Bible Society of Scotland. The chairman of the board (Mr J. Farquharson) presided. The report also stated that the sale of Bibles, New Testaments, and Gospels had been maintained, although there was some difficulty in securing the full requirements owing to the import restrictions. The speakers 01 the evening were Miss Krishnabai. the principal of the Girls' School. Ramabai Muktj Mission, India; the Rev. D. Calder, Dominion secretary of the British and Foreign Bible Society: Professor D. C. Martin, of India; the Rev. G. H McNeur: and Mrs Margaret Ramsay. The Rev. H. H. Barton and Messrs P. Barr. J. Farquharson, and J. Inglis Wright were re-elected to the board. Motions of condolence were passed with the relatives of the Rev. P. B. Fraser and Mesdames Corbett and Howarth.
