..MAINLY FAIR Forecast for Otago.—The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday afternoon by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Moderate to fresh winds from between the south and the west. A few scattered showers on the coast, but weather mainly fair with moderate temperatures. Seas moderate to rather rough. Dominion Forecast. Anti-cyclones Jure located to the north-east of New Zealand and over Tasmania, and are separated by a depression, which extends from the Tasman Sea across the South Island Weather fair in the northern and eastern areas of the North Island, elsewhere rather unsettled, with further rain in Westland and scattered showers over the remainder of the area but conditions gradually improving in the '*>uth. Temperatures mild to warm in the north, cool in the south Weather in Dunedin Rain showers fell yesterday morning, but the barometer was rising at 29.96 inches (1015 nillibars). and conditions improved in the afternoon, when a modera'e to strong south-west wind prevailed The maximum temperature was 62 degrees.
