CINE-PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY

ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Otago Cine-Photographic Society was held in the Teachers' Institute rooms, Dr A. J. Cottrell presiding. Presenting the annual report and balance sheet, the chairman said it was pleasing to notice the improvement in the standard of work, especially in the competitions, in which there had been 23 entries. He remarked on the high average attendance at the meetings, and also on the interest shown in 9.5m.m. films. Mr B. H. Nees referred to the sound position the society enjoyed, stating it was a pleasure to find the club increasing in every way. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Dr A. J. Cottrell; president, Mr P. R. Riggs; vice-presidents —Dr A. J. Cottrell (past president), Dr J. Ritchie, and Mr R. W. Cook; secretary, Mr D. L. Ritchie; assistant secretary, Miss P. Scott; treasurer, Mr V. Johnston; executive—Dr B. Dodds, Mr J. Booker, and Mr R. Burrell; social organiser, Miss I. Smith; auditor, Mr A. C. Stephens; solicitor, Mr M Hanan.

Christmas greetings were sent to three members serving overseas—Captain H. Walden Fitzgerald, Sapper S. R. Harrington, and Private A. M. Peters.
