How far capital expenditure is affected by the writing down does not appear, but an increase of 6 per cent, approximately for the year should not reduce the secret reserve contained in the property. At their ' aggregate of £139,642,831, assets have increased by over £12.500,000, but the interesting fact as to the extent of the corresponding move in the liabilities is not disclosed woing to the abbreviated nature of the balance sheet.
