AIR FORCE BAND
VISIT TO DUNEDIN The Royal'New Zealand Air Force Band of 58 members. under the command of Flight Lieutenant Gladstone Hill, director of music, R.N.Z.A.F. which is touring New Zealand by direction of the Minister of Defence (Mr F. Jones), in connection with the, combined Provincial Patriotic Councils’ “ £1,000,000 Heart to Heart Appeal ” for patriotic purposes, will arrive in Dunedin from Invercargill to-morrow morning by the 11.15 express. The Band will march from the Station to the Town Hall, where the members will be allotted to the various citizens who have consented to billet them during their stay in Dunedin. In the evening a spectacular parade will be held through the streets of the city. The entire personnel of the Air Force from the Taieri aerodrome will arrive bv special train, disembarking at the Rattray street crossing at 6.45 p.m. The Air Force, under Squadron Leader G. L. Stedman. officer commanding, preceded by the Air Force Band, will then march through the city leaving Rattray street at 6.55 p.m. and proceed round the Bank of New Zealand corner, into Princes street through the Octagon, where the salute will be taken by the Mayor then along George street, via St. Andrew street, and oast the Hospital, up Frederick street, and back along George street, and through the Octagon to the Town Hall During the parade, tram and vehicle traffic in these sections will be controlled. The band will give a concert in the Main Town Hall, commencing at 8 p.m. The charge for admission will be Is to all parts, with the exception of reserved seats.
