DROWNED IN RIVER ' MAN’S FALL FROM WHARF , (Per United Press Association) GREYMOUTH, Oct. 16. , Seen, by two whitebait fishermen to fall into the Grey River from the lower berth at the wharves about 5.45- this evening, a man. presumed to-be John Gamble, aged 44. a labourer, single, residing with his parents at Gresson street, Greymouth. was drowned. The police and harbour officials in a rowing boat searched - the vicinity till after dark.' but no trace of the body was found. i ■ .■;■ ■ . Thp only evidence that the- drowned man was Gamble was the finding on the wharf of a cap later identified as belonging to him. ' MOTOR CYCLIST INJURED Edward Marks, a young man, living at 12 Black’s road, fell from his motor cycle while turning a corner yesterday and was admitted to the Hospital at 2.25 p.m. suffering from severe bruising. A FRACTURED COLLARBONE John Williams; a young boy living at Wingatui. fell while playing at the Mosgiel School yesterday and fractured his collarbone. He was admitted to Hospital at 2.10 p.m.
