There is historical significance in it too. as the film shows the struggle of Robert Fulton (played by Richard Greene) to build and launch the world’s first steamboat, the famous Clermont, There is a love interest as well, when Alice Faye, as a barmaid of the waterfront, wins the heart and shares the glory of a man like Robert Fulton.
