DAILY INTERCESSION

But now He hath promised, saying, Yet once more will I make to tremble not the earth only, hut also the heaven. And this “ Yet once more ” signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that have been made, that those things that are not shaken may remain. Wherefore, receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us have grace whereby we may offer service well-pleasing to God with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire (Hebrews xii: 26-29). We commend to Thy Fatherly protection our soldiers, sailors, and airmen. Keep them body and soul from all evil. May they deliver us by their courage and sacrifice from the scourge that threatens the world, and by their victory may they open the gates of neiv life and a better age. In the torment of battle may they be conscious of Thy presence, Who hast redeemed them through the Friend Who has Himself suffered: through Jesus Christ our Lord.
