ROME ARTICLE CAUSES STIR ROME, Sept. 11. An article on Anglo-American relations —the last of a series in the official journal Relazioni Internazionali —has caused a sensation in Rome and in diplomatic circles, and nroves that responsible Italian quarters fear the possibility of the United States entering the war. “Italy,” the article states, “must reckon on the fact that President Roosevelt has the support of the majority of American people and of Congress in the steps he has recently “ Every indication has been given of close Anglo-American collaboration. The transfer of 50 destroyers must be considered hostile to Italy and Germany, and indicates America’s serious interest in Britain. “ The calling up of the American National Guard. President Roosevelt’s approval of conscription, the Americah-Canadian talks, and America’s terrific rearmament show that the United States will interfere in European developments, but this will probably also cause a dislocation of her relations with Japan.”
