MALE CHOIR
CONCERT AT SEACLIFF The Royal Dlinedin Male Choir and assisting artists entertained the patients at the Seacliff Mental Hospital on Saturday evening. The choir was under the baton of Mr James Paterson, and Mr Colin Oliver was at the piano. Among the numbers rendered by the choir were the part-songs " Crimond." " Hope the Hornblower," " Mannin Veen,' and " Dance My Comrades"; sea shanties, " Billy Boy" (solo by Mr Stuart Thomson). "Roaming" (solo by Mr J. Paterson). The programme also included the vocal items " The Little Brown Owl " and " Within a Mile o' Edinburgh Town,' Miss Gillies; " The Song of Florian " and I Heard a Forest Praying," Miss K. Begg; " Shipmates o' Mine" and For England," Mr Raymond Wentworth; and The Carol Singers " and other songs by MrW. Lambert. Tlie humorous recitations The Tale of the Tack" and "After the Marriage " were given by Miss Kirkham; tap dances were performed by Misses Walmur Thomson and Margaret Kennedy; tumbling and balancing feats by Messrs Broad and Freeman; humorous stories were told by Mr N R. Mclsaac, and novelty items on a musical saw were given by Mr Vic Preen The programme, which concluded with the National Anthem, was greatly enjoved by the patients, whose thanks, and 'those of the staff, were voiced by Dr R. Hay.
