QUEENSTOWN Plunkct Society Mrs W. A. Anderson was chairwoman at the bi-monthly meeting of the Lake County sub-branch of the Plunket Society. The nurse' report, which revealed good work in the district, was received. Arrangements were made for the annual collection of subscriptions during October. St. Andrew's Social An enjoyable social was held last Wednesday evening. The P.W.M.U. members, under the leadership of Mrs «T. L Lindsay, carried out the programme, which consisted of items by Mrs J. L. Lindsay, Miss M. Gray, Mr J. Fraser. Miss Jean and Mr lan Hamilton. Farewell to Vicar After fulfilling the duties as vicar of Wakatipu Parish for just over two years and a-half, the Rev. J. C. Fussell returned to his home in Waimate North, Auckland, on Wednesday, The parishioners and friends of both Arrowtown and Queenstown Churches bade him farewell on Wednesday and Friday nights respectively. Mr Fussell had made many friends inside and outside the church. He took a very live interest in the welfare of the West High School in its early stages, and at a previous function the pupils presented him with a cigarette case with the school badge on it and a farewell scroll. Both the'Arrowtown and Queenstown congregations handed monetary gifts to Mr Fussell, and the various speakers expressed the respect in which he was held, and wished him every happiness in his old home. A further presentation was a picture, " Reflections in Lake Hayes."
