TRAGIC FEATURE BOMB STRIKES CROWDED BUILDING (By Wireless.) DAVEWTRY, Sept. 11. (Received Sept. 12, at 1.30 a.m.) One of the most tragic features of last night’s raid was the destruction of a school in which 500 people, who had lost their homes, had been provided with temporary accommodation. The building was struck by a heavy bomb, or, possibly, an aerial torpedo, and it is feared that a large number of men, women, and children lost their lives. Some of those who were extricated were still alive, but died on their Avay to hospital. ITALIAN PLANES HEAVY LOSSES RECORDED (By Wireless) DAVENTRY, Sept. 11. (Received Sept. 12, at 1.30 a.m.) It was announced in Cairo Ho-day that 177 Italian aircraft had been destroyed in the Middle East since Italy entered the war, and that 90 more had probably been lost.

INDO-CHiNA BORDER JAPANESE TROOP MOVEMENTS CHUNGKING, Sept. 11. (Received Sept. 12, at 2 a.m.) It is reported that the Indo-China authorities blew up a bridge at Shuikow, on the Kwangsi border, 25 miles west of Lungchow. A Kweilin message states that the Japanese have transferred 4000 troops from Lungchow to the IndoChina border, also 5000 volunteer Formosan high school students.
