ROXBURGH TOURNAMENT RESULTS OF MEN’S MATCHES (Special to Daily Times) ROXBURGH. Aug. 23. Alter rain overnight, the course was In excellent order for the first day of the men’s golf tournament at Roxburgh. There were record entries. The Senior Bogey Match, for which there were 32 entries, resulted:—A. E. Jefferson (St. Clair), W. G. Aitken (St. Clair), W. A. McKenzie (St. Clair), and F. W. Dixon (St. Clair), 2 down: J. H. McDougall, 3 down; J. W. Turnbull (Gore), J. Kidd (Gore), H. S. Ross (St. Clair), Father Sexton (Otatara), A. J. Earl (Lumsden), 4 down. The Junior Bogey, 44 entries, resulted:— F. Ferguson (Roxburgh), W. Little (Lumsden), all square; G. Burnett (St. Clair), P. Grayson»(Otago), 1 down; N. Race (Belleknowcs), H. Smith (St Clair), A. Umbers (Chisholm Park), R. T. Simpson (St. Clair), 2 down. The Four-ball Bogey, 76 entries, resulted:—J. Burton and S. Grant (Roxburgh), 8 up; J. Paape and G? Burnett (St. Clair), 5 up; A. Sime and L. Ruthledge (St. Clair), M. Allan and J. Monteath (St. Clair), W. Aitken and W. McKenzie (St. Clair), W. Strang and A. Jefferson (St. Clair). H. S. Ross and A. Bayliss (St. Clair), A. Anderson and H. Cormack 106—35—71. Mrs L. Gore 107 — 35—72/ The best scores for the Sinclair trophy were:—Mrs C. Abernethy 99—36 63, Mrs V. Hunt 117—36—81, Mrs Mathers 117—36—81, Mrs G. Evans 119—36—83. Mrs Abernethy reduced her handicap by 5 strokes. In the knock-out for the Margaret Adair Cup, Mrs F. Megget defeated Mrs J. Benton 1 up. Mrs Alan Jones defeated Mrs A. Cormack 6 and 5.
