PAN-AMERICAN AIRWAYS
SOUTH PACIFIC SERVICE CLIPPER'S INAUGURAL FLIGHT <Peb United i Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 11. Advice that Colonel Clarence M. Young. Pacific Division manager for the Pan-American Airways, will travel to New Zealand bv the American Clipper, which is 'scheduled to leave San Francisco to-morrow (Saturday. New Zealand time) on the inaugural flight of the company's South Pacific service, has been received by Mr W. J. Mullahey. air base manager at Auckland. Colonel Young was for many years associated with the Bureau of Air Commerce, the then civic aeronautics authority for the United States. He became manager of the Pacific Division' of Pan-American' Airways when the company first extended itsservices to the Pacific, and has held that post since. Advice has already been received that Mr Harold Gatty, New Zealand representative for the company, will travel by the Clipper, which* will be under the command of Captain Tilton, with Captain Nixon as first officer, but the remaining personnel is not yet known. ,
