Voluntary offers to reduce their petrol licences by 20 per cent, to assist the war effort have been made by NewPlymouth master butchers. If, how ever, that is not sufficient they are prepared to go to any limit deemed necessary. The decision was arrived at unanimously at a meeting held to consider the conservation of petrol in response to an appeal by the Minister of Transport (Mr R. Semple), and Mr. G. L. Laurenson, Dominion oil fuel controller.
