LOYALTY AFFIRMED
TOE:;_ppRSIDE WORKERS "UNWARRANTED ATTACKS" KEEN RESENPENT EXPRESSED (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 10. Charges against the loyalty of waterside workers were hotly refuted at a meeting of the Wellington branch of the New Zealand "Union this morning, and the following resolution expressing the waterside workers' viewpoint was carried unanimously:— "It views with profound regret and indignation" the unwarranted and vicious attacks) by innuendoes and aspersions, that have been cast on their loyalty, land, as an assurance of earnestness' for national defence urges the Government through revenue-collect-ing agencies to limit all incomes, both civil and private, to a maximum of £500." - :' ': ' ; ■ '/;:>' '<■?■s: Another resolution "urges the Government, in the interests, of national safety, td' ; suspend for the duration of the war the "special/privileges enjoyed by members of the Legislature of immunity frcm prosecution of utterances made in Parliament which gravely endanger national security and which are a menace, to-national unity."
