THE DOMINION FUND TOTAL EXCEEDS £528,000 (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON. July 8. The Dominion total for the Sick, Wounded and Distressed Fund is now over £528,000. Details are as follows: £ Auckland i&i.OOO Otago 60,500 Gisborne 7,600 Hawke’s Bay .. .. 34,200 Taranaki .. ... •• 19-500 Marlborough .. .. 3,700 West Coast 2,000 Nelson .. 3,b80 Wellington 118,000 Canterbury ..... • • 80,000 ARROWTOWN DISTRICT A SUCCESSFUL EFFORT The appeal for Red Cross funds in the Arrowtown district proved a most successful effort. In a short period the sum of £324 17s 10d was raised. The main receipts. £169 7s Id, came from a “ Paddy’s market ” organised by the Arrow Fire Brigade and the takings at Reid’s pictures. In addition to substantial monetary contributions, the Arrow Rifle Club. St. Patrick’s Church, the Arrow Golf Club, and the Lower Shotover Dance Committee all held functions or subscribed to the appeal.
