AUCKLAND TRAMWAYS
POWER TO INCREASE FARES (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 8. A decision to apply for an amending Order-in-Council increasing the maximum tram fares to 3d for the first section and 2d for each succeeding section was confirmed by the Auckland Transport Board. The chairman, Mr Nagel, said there was no intention at present to increase the fares in spite of increased wages and costs. Permission was sought as a precautionary measure only.
