THE PENINSULA COUNTY COUNCIL

TO THE EDITOR Sir, —Councillor James Nyhon seems to have a habit of misconstruing-things to suit himself. It is quite true that I made the speech he refers to at the February meeting. Deploring the fact that- the farmers were up against it, I considered that the only way to protect those in the North-East Harbour was to declare a rural area and an urban area, but from our clerk (Mr Seaton) we discovered that this is not possible with counties. Therefore the course I took was that which I considered to offer the best way out of the difficulty.—l am, etc.— D. J. S. Robertson. Highcliff.
