O'BRIEN IN WESTERN DRAMA A young Westerner’s atonement ior a crime he did not commit, and cattle rustling methods of 50 years ago, form the dual theme of “ Bullet Code,” R.K.ORadio’s newest George O’Brien vehicle, which will be screened at the Grand Theatre to-day. With its locale along the Mexican border, the film deals with the methods used by cattle thieves, who used to drive their stolen herds over the line rather than risk disposing of them in the United States. The star is seen as a young rancher who aids an older cattleman in fighting a group of rustlers and who soon finds himself in a network of complications as a result. O'Brien also has been led to believe that he accidentally killed a young cowboy, but during the rustler fight he discovers that one of his opponents is the real killer. The many thrilling moments of the story and a romance with the cattleman s daughter make "Bullet Code” “one of the stars most exciting pictures. The backfiring of a supposedly harmless joke causes the broadcaster to announce over the air that a prominent broker has been found guilty of murder when in reality he has been acquitted The broker promptly slaps libel suits on (he radio station and the newspaper that owns it, and the three principals, facing the loss of their jobs unless they can do something about the suits, frantically seek a solution by fair means or foul
