MATERIAL SUPPORT FOR FRANCE
TO THE EDITOR Sir, —I was very pleasantly surprised this morning when reading the corres-. pondence to see that a practical manlike Mr Philip Barling has put forward a good and much-needed suggestion “ that New Zealand should give some necessary help ” to our distressed Allies, the French, who' are fighting and dying for our freedom and who need material, help as surely as they need sympathy. God bless this thoughtful man . and. cause his effort to be the big. success it surely deserves to be. As a worker’s wife and mother of a big family I will be pleased to subscribe the first £l, and hope some other able men will come forward to assist and feed,, and thus encourage these gallant Frenchmen to hold out and win our freedom and their own.—l am, etc.. Mother of Six. Caversham, June 17.
